Beginning August 31 we will open availability, to regular raiders (5+ consecutive
PA runs), to bring alt toons into the raid for Festergut and Rotface
only. The following rules apply if you are interested in obtaining
these for your alt: - Your alt must be pre-approved. This
means you must send us an email to raidleads@pixeladdicts.info letting
us know your main characters name, your alternate characters name, and
allow us at least 48 hours to get back to you with an expected date for
your alt to run these 2 bosses.
- Your alt must be relevantly
geared. Meaning you must at least play this character and be able to do
some DPS in the run. We won't approve a very low geared alt to come
for the bloods.
- Your alt must be parked at the instance door
prior to raid start. We will not summon alts. When we make the first
pull on the Plague Quarter you must be ready to change toons and zone
in.
A list will be posted on the Pixel Addicts web page... |

I'm not talking about rotations, button mashing, or gear score or glyphs. Those are very important. But they can be learned.
What is it that makes a GOOD tank? Is it an attitude, a way of treating the rest of your group/raid? Is it a willingness to accept abuse not only from the enemy but from your friends that makes a tank sought after?
Why are some folks still sitting around in basic tanking gear, the bare minimum for tanking a heroic, and others are so in demand that they can't go to all the events people want them for?
I don't mean "playing favorites," here; popularity isn't exclusive to tanks after all. But if the SGA is so short of tanks as I've been hearing, why are we not actively working to help some more people develop their tanks? You can have a decent, or at least acceptable, tank set without doing much tanking, just taking items for the tank set as you go along...but at some point you've got to start tanking, right?
At some point, you have to stop saying "I can tank but..." and start saying ... |

Here is my one button charge/intercept/intervene macro. This is primarily for Protection spec'd warriors due to Warbringer. If you target an ally you will intervene and if you target an enemy it will Charge. If charge is on CD it will intercept (given the rage needed.) Do note if you hit this macro at an enemy 2+ times, it will use both Charge and intercept CDs. Enjoy!
#showtooltip /castsequence [harm] reset=15 Charge, Intercept, Charge; [help] Intervene;
#showtooltip will be your first line then copy and paste the /castsequence in the next line (it will make the whole macro 3 lines.)

The release version of mumble is not the same as the one you use in the setup page. THis new version uses a certificate to auth to the servers. There i no option to enter a password at all on the server info section.
I have tried installing mumble using my main system running ubuntu 10.04 and using a windows vbox, both show no password field when adding a server.
WHen I do add a server it will not connect to the mumble.alliancesga.com or using the IP address.
Please advise if there is something I can do to allow mumble to work for me.

No, not those trolls.
The official forum trolls.
Coming soon: you cannot hide your real name on the forums. Whatever is on your Battle.Net account is what will display with your posts.
No more gender confusion (in most cases) and far more importantly, people are a lot less likely to be a jackass if their real name is listed. |

We have 2 of our regulars out for about 5 weeks and we need some subs starting tonight. Please let me know if you're interested in filling in over the next 5 weeks. We also still have a permanent tank slot open if anyone in the SGA is interested in joining us on a more regular basis
Send Purplefeet / Akata / Namnori an in game mail if you're interested!
Raid is ICC, loot distributed via Suicide Kings. Run goes from 8 to 11 PM on Tuesdays and Thursday nights. Progression run so we expect progression oriented raiders who come prepared.
Look forward to hearing form interested persons from the SGA.

This was originally posted on the Imperial Defenders site. Thought it might be useful for others...
1: Buy and link a physical authenticator. Avoid the ones built into your phone. Lots of reasons for this including firmware upgrades wiping out your software (hint: the new iPhone OS upgrade).
2: Don't tie your Battle.Net account to your primary email address. Use a free email service, and create a username that bears no resemblance to your main email, or the names of any of your characters. And never, ever share your account with someone*.
3: Buy an authenticator. Seriously now; its kinda silly that you haven't done so.
4: Keep up-to-date anti-virus and firewall software installed and running at all times. Scan your machine daily, and set it to automatically update itself. Password protect the settings.
5: Buy an authenticator. Okay, you're starting to make us worry now.
6: Don't ever open email on the account you setup in step #2, unless you can *confirm* that it comes from Blizzard... |

To be honest this is blizzards best but worest idea ever done, you will see the email addy for anyone u realid friend and all there friends can see your addy. I am sorry but his is a keylogger dream if they can hack you, they get all your friends email addy's and they can spam them. personally I think that this iis may sound nice but once one friend gets hacked the keyloggers are in. if I friend one person any of their friends see my email and my firneds, so it will be a dream world I personally do not recommand this to anyone. here are the faq's about it

I couldn't take it anymore, so I fixed it. Here, ladies and gentlemen, is a bookmarklet to fix the text wrapping badness.
I'm not actually sure how this is going to work with this forum software (if it lets me embed javascript links, that's actually a rather bad thing), so if this doesn't work I'll host a page with a bookmarklet somewhere so you can use it yourself.
Anyway, In the next post will be a link to the bookmarklet; simply drag that link to your bookmarks bar. Now, before posting anything on this site, just click that bookmark, and the text wrapping issue should go away.Sheldranason40347.8398032407 |

Elennalura's account has been hacked folks. Any weird in game mails from any of her toons should be disregarded for now, and we'll let you know if and when Blizz fixes things.
The thief stole her account, then cleaned out the guild bank. Then stole her Paladin Maren and transferred the character, then - THEN - had the hairy nuts to place an authenticator on the account...!
Wish Ele and us the best of luck getting this fixed and recovering from the losses.

We're in need of a regular non-DK tank for a casual ICC-10 run. Our raid time is 6 PM Server Time (ST) on Saturday — soft-stop at 9 PM ST. Due to the fact that we're casual (and attendance hasn't been the most regular thing) we've so far managed to get to but not past Saurfang within the allotted time. All interested parties please send me a PM on this site or to Moredhel in-game.
Thank you in advance for your interest!

Talked with Akata tonight and we hear the realm is going to be offline the full 24 hours on Tuesday June 8. Was wondering how the PA folks felt about extending our raid lockout and hitting the Blood Queen again on Thursday rather than reclearing up to her and only getting 1 or 2 shots at her. Going to put up a post on the www.pixeladdicts.info site as well for those who visit there regularly.
Hopefully we won't be offline and the raid can happen as planned but just in case... We're going to get an alt saved and extend the lockout so we at least have the option. |

Seeing as how our guild is new to the SGA, I am starting this
thread for our progression. Currently we are regularly
downing Fester and Rotface in our 10man run. The run is
currently organized by Archenfel and has a core group |

Just got my 1st Closed Beta offer from "Blizzard" be aware they are comming. |

So this was brought up on something I was listening to the other day that I hadn't really thought about but am going to do and thought I would share. With the release of Cata. getting ever closer all the landscapes will be completely different than they are now. So what was once your favorite zone for the scenery may no longer be the case. So be sure to get some screen shot keep sakes of those favorite zones for they will never been the same. For me doesn't get better than Ashenvale so I'm gonna go get a ton of various shots in before its to late. |
|
|
|
So I've heard a number of people say they can't raid because everyone starts so late... I've also heard a number of people would like to see Yogg die (myself included). I'd like to gauge interest in a Saturday morning/afternoon, 1-day-a-week achievement raid. Not going to start this weekend because of the holiday, but figured we'd start in Naxx next week. I know Naxx is pretty easy now, but we could either do the 8 man achievements or try for Undying, and it would give the group a chance to figure out how to work together. I'd give Naxx only a week or two then move on to Ulduar. Since I'm only planning on one day a week, I may use the raid lockout extensions to allow us to clear in 2 weeks instead of 1 when needed. I am not necessarily looking for people who have seen every fight or are uber geared (though it would be nice), and alts are welcome as long as their gear is appropriate for whichever instance we're doing. (For Undying I would prefer mains.)
Thoughts/Time suggestions?
